Patios, Walkways & Hardscaping
Flagstone, paver, and brick work built on a base that lasts.

The job
A patio is only as good as what's under it. In clay soil, a thin base means heaving and settling within a few winters. We dig out, build a compacted base, and set flagstone, pavers, or brick so it stays flat and sheds water.
What we handle
- Flagstone patios
- Paver and brick patios and walkways
- Stepping-stone and gravel paths
- Fire-pit areas and seating pads
How we approach it
We lay out the shape on the ground with paint and string before anything is dug, so you can stand on it and decide. Then we excavate, build and compact the base, and set the stone with the slope water needs to run off.

Questions
Common questions
Flagstone has a natural, irregular look; pavers are uniform, come in many styles, and are easy to repair one piece at a time. We'll bring samples and talk through how each holds up.
Many Northern Virginia HOAs require approval for hardscaping. We can give you a drawing and material list to submit before we schedule.
Clay expands and contracts with moisture and frost. A properly excavated, compacted gravel base is what keeps a patio flat for years instead of a couple of seasons.
